Section 1
The first thing we talk about is the purpose of your website; what colors, design, and layout you like; and what kind of visitor interaction you want.
You start yourt new website by setting up and paying for your domain name and web hosting. No worries, I help you with this!
We also install WordPress so you can begin to build your website.
2 hrs.
Section 2
In this section you log in to your new website and learn about the admin area (or backend view). We take a tour of the different areas: pages, posts, media library, settings, theme customization.
You pick a theme (template) and a page builder for your website layout.
We cover installing plugins, which help to make your website function better.
2 hrs.
Section 3
You learn the difference between pages and posts. You create your Home, About, and Contact pages. Then you will create a post page on whatever topic you like.
We discuss various layouts to use for pages and posts.
You start your navigation menu with your pages and blog page.
The media library holds all your images, audios, videos, PDF files. You add your own images and any audio, video, or PDF files that you want to include on your website.
We also cover where to find royalty-free and free-to-use images and how to size or optimize the pictures.
4 hrs.
Section 4
Here we dive more into plugins, pages, and media.
There will be time for questions and any problems that you are encountering.
2.5 hrs.
Section 5
In this section we cover how and why to maintain your site and basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practices
Final questions and/or problems
